Hey, I'm Mel-  I started Mel's Craft Goodies in October 2020 as a way to create endless frames incorporating real butterflies. 

In September 2020, my mom attempted to rescue a butterfly, but it died, and I figured I would try to spread it and put it in a frame.  Once I looked at the final product, I was taken aback by the beauty and couldn't wait to do it again!

Besides selling my self-published book (pre-sale going on now), I plan to offer handmade notebooks and booklets.   Stay tuned!

A little more about myself:  I'm a 97' born Aquarius with a huge itch to create.  

I first considered myself a poet before a bug-enthusiast;  now I just consider myself a DIY enthusiast, for my love of making things.  The idea of making my own business (no matter how small) really frightened me when considering how bad I am at committing to my hobbies.   I enjoy doing a lot of things at once, so I didn't think I would be able to give my business the time, attention, and effort it deserved.  I did keep going however, and from one day to the next (seemingly), I became large enough to attend weekly pop-ups and maintain a steady grasp on the market.  Although I envision MelsCraftGoodies to be more than entomology one day, I appreciate the time it's taking me to get there; enjoying the ride as I build something I can forever call my own.
